Releases such as Smuggler's Run, Midnight Club: Street Racing, or even ATV Offroad Fury helped fill in some of the gaps leading to even bigger and better games (not that these games in particular weren't worthwhile). While at first things did seem on the downside with some of the bigger games having been pushed into 2001, I did get around to exploring some of the other games that I was somewhat interested in trying. Having placed my pre-order through Electronics Boutique, I stood in line and waited to pay for the package and games that came with it. When it came to PlayStation 2, I made sure to be there from the beginning. which I would continue to do throughout the PlayStation's lifecycle (especially since I'd rent Resident Evil, beat it, rent it again, beat it, and keep repeating this process a bunch of times). With Twisted Metal and Resident Evil to come for the ride, I fell in love playing both games. However, there was one time within the launch year where I wound up renting the console from a video store for $15.

Although I did end up spending money on one out of the gate, I did end up returning the system soon after as I was unfamiliar with how to setup the platform at that point (and things like YouTube didn't exist yet).
PlayStation is the only console from Sony where I sort of didn't have one until approximately year after the system came out. I bought my first PlayStation the day Gran Turisimo came out. I like the system but then the GameCube and Xbox came out and I liked them a lot more.

Loved SSX Tricky, wish that series would make a comeback. I got my PS2 around the time Twisted Metal Black came out, bought it used from the Pawn Shop I managed at the time. I didn’t play it much back then as almost everything was better on Xbox 360 that generation but now I enjoy it as a retro system. Got another one (40GB) three years ago to replace my 20GB that but the dust. It was tough getting Sony to fix it and when they did it only came back with a 30 day warranty. It took 6 months from when I won to getting the system and when I got it it was broken.

Got my first PS3 free from Shasta Cola corporation during a promo.

Now I own 3 regular PS4s, one launch unit, one gold Taco Bell PS4, my gray 20th anniversary edition one and my launch PS4 PRO. PS4 was the PlayStation that healed old wounds left since the PS2 launch. I got it in a shady Craigslist deal in the bad part of town (even worse than where I live) for 400$ with two games. I bought a PS4 the February afterit launched because I foolishly failed to preorder. Choose the store you want to buy from and buy something else ahead of time so they already have your information as a customer.
Just follow some stock bots on twitter, download the app and turn on notifications.

When people say you CAN’T GET ONE they’re full of shit. Didn’t get store pickup like I wanted and it shipped a couple days late but I’ve been enjoying it thoroughly since. I was at work, driving and I just pulled over in front of a Taco Bell and got in. I preordered through Best Buy, got a lucky tip to try again from a rando on Twitter that they were up again the day they first went live. PS5 is the first Playstation I purchased at launch. I was late to the party on the PS1 and PS2, mostly because of affordability, and going with the Sega console first in both generations. The games library wasn't where it needed to be at that point, though it was good enough. With the PS3, I got it about one year after launch, when there was simultaneous news about future PS3s dropping PS2 backwards compatibility as well as the 5 free Blu-Ray movies (amazing to think that they had to do something like that) and me graduating college and finally having a decent amount of spare money to spend on electronics. With the PS4, I could have afforded to get it at launch, but I opted to wait for the game library to build up, and finally got one with the PS4 Pro, which netted me a more powerful system and a library of cheap and solid games available. I didn't attempt to preorder, since I was unemployed at the time and only managed to get a job again in February, but it's been impossible to get one since. The PS5 was the first Playstation where I intended to buy the console near launch because it launched with games like Demon's Souls that I wanted to play immediately.
